Shannon’s Hopeline
Who they are
Shannon's Hopeline's goal is to stop suicide and lessen shame before issues turn into crises by informing young people and their families in the Dublin region about the value of maintaining good mental health. Shannon’s Hope line won the charity award in 2019 and are participating in this year's Vhi Women’s Mini-Marathon
Are there any details on what the Charity Award they won was?
Why they started
Shannon's Hopeline was established in honour of Shannon Kelleher, who perished by suicide on January 24, 2012, at the age of just 13. Shannon's suicide came as a total surprise to her family and the entire neighbourhood. Suicidal ideation was not recognized, and Shannon never addressed suicide.
