#womenwithimpact - Rachel, The Gavin Glynn Foundation

This year we are introducing a brand new video series, Every T-Shirt Tells A Story, as part of our #WomenwithImpact campaign.  We see so many women wearing t-shirts that represent causes close to their heart each year, and we wanted to share some of these amazing stories with everyone.

The first in the series features Rachel Flynn from Greystones, Co. Wicklow, who will be wearing a t-shirt supporting the Gavin Glynn Foundation at this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon.

Gavin Glynn was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2011, at the age of 18 months old.  His family brought him to Switzerland, the Netherlands and the US for treatment, before he sadly passed away in October 2014.  The Gavin Glynn Foundation honours his memory by fundraising to help the families of children with cancer fund treatment abroad.

Rachel was Gavin’s Montessori school teacher for 2 years, as well as being a personal friend of the Glynn family.  She has taken part in the Mini Marathon for the past five years, and regularly fundraises for this wonderful charity.

This June, Rachel will once again be part of the ‘Sea of Red’ of Gavin Glynn Foundation t-shirts at the Mini Marathon.
